The semester is Over!

The semester is over and just as fast as it started it ended. The second semester of college really flew by and i cannot believe i am almost a sophomore already. It is crazy how time flies and i am one step closer to being in the work force full time. I cannot wait to see what next semester has in store for me and I know for sure what i wrote in this class will have me prepared for any paper I have to write throughout college.

Dear, Future CW2 Student(s)

During this upcoming semester you will learn in greater depth that you need to fine tune a couple more skills while you are writing at the college level. You will need to sharpen your tools in these areas and perfect them in order to succeed.

The first and most important skill that you will need to accomplish is to “write early and revise often.” This skill will help you become a better writing and be more prepared for during in a final draft. Another skill that you will need to perfect is Rhetorical knowledge. You will need to be able to tell the difference in the types of information you apply to your papers. You should pick wisely and actually pick an article that is creditable and works with your process by giving you the most information possible.  Also, composing in electronic environments which couple be a struggle for some people. This for me involved blog posts, organizing your documents in google docs and sharing them with other students along with the professor. These two skills are critical in your success in college writing two.

One of the projects that I had to write early and revise often and compose in electronic environments was the Malone Paper. The paper required me to share my paper with a couple students and the professor in order to get feedback on my paper. I would recommend you do the same in order to fine tune your paper to exactly what the criteria is because it is a tricky paper to write and expand upon if you are unfamiliar with this type of writing style and concept.

Another paper I want to talk about it the Final paper for this class. The Information and surprising essay is one where you will definitely need to write early and revise often as well! This is a complex paper that will take a bit of time to acquire all the research and write the paper. Getting a hang of this will make your paper stand out and learn what exactly the professor is looking for. Additionally, this paper makes you fine tune your rhetorical knowledge by finding articles that can be used in this type of paper and recognizing the different types of literature you will need to use.

By recognizing your weaknesses in these areas you will become a better writer and succeed in college writing two.

Final Paper Completed

The final paper came together very nice for me . I was making revisions until the night before it was due but those were just minor adjustments that I felt would make my paper better. It wasn't like I was adding whole pages of work. I simply changed a couple words to make the paper flow better and tried to fix any mla errors. I feel as if this is one of the best papers I have written in college and it is the most informative paper because it shows people that just because someone looks ripped and like they are in really good shape on the outside this does not mean they are healthy on the inside of their bodies and their hormones are completely out of wack. Overall, I feel as if this paper came together very well and that it is a really good paper for people to enjoy.

Making the Writing Process Video

During the making of my video I started with iMovie. This was a problem for me because i got the pictures that I wanted but not the music and for me the music set the mood for the whole video. I did not want to buy a song because i'm a broke college student who spent all there extra money on the weekends. This lead me to using AdopeSpark for my video and it was a lot easier to use then i movie. My video also changed from more humorous to modern and clean cut. While I do feel as if the first images were more impactful and required less words on the slide it was still lacking in the mood I wanted to give off with the presentation.

Writing Process

Half way Through This Final paper

I went through many revisions within the first week of this paper. I knew I needed to revise what i had before moving forward because I didn't want any fluff in my paper. I wanted it to be straight info and useful information. I knew i needed to paraphrase more and saw that when I did i left out the citation and i had to change that to get in that habit before writing the rest of the paper.

Final Paper At the Start

At the start of my final paper I was confused and overwhelmed with the amount of work that needed to be put into the paper. Once I got the hang of what sources I needed to collect it got easier for me and i found a total of six sources. With these sources I was consumed with a bunch of info and no start to my paper and I knew that needed to change. I started piecing together information in order of how I wanted to complete my essay. Then I got a head start and wrote three and half pages before I knew it.

Worth Fighting For Analysis

Christian Guzman is the owner and founder of Alphalete Athletics which is a pretty popular online workout company. Christian is a body builder and fitness you-tuber on top of  running his company. The Worth Fighting For (Summer shredding ep.1) video is kind of like a trailer or commercial for what is to come on his channel. The video shows off Christian lifting weights that are decently heavy for his body weight and cutting diet. The video also has his brand plastered all over it. The song in the video is motivational and can encourage people to start cutting for summer and getting in that beach body shape. The video also shows that lifting this weight is not that easy for him and it required dedication and for someone to put in the work to get there. In the middle of the video it shows Christians body transformation over the years and that can encourage people to get involved in working out. Additionally, this video is to promote his brand Alphalete Athletics because his apparel is all over the video and it can also appeal to people to buy his clothing to one day hopefully look like him. The video also has high quality filming and editing involved. The video is motivational and sells his brand very well.
For me this video is inspirational because Christian is an all natural body builder who puts in the time and work in order to achieve this body builder body that I am also trying to achieve. I am about to start by cut in about three weeks and this video helped me realize what my body could look like when I start my cut or in a couple years once I get a couple more years under my belt living this type of lifestyle.

Two papers in...

While writing these two papers i realized that my writing for the most part in the past has all been the same, Followed a strict 3,5 or 10 paragraph format and these two papers helped me break out of that format. Neither of these papers allowed my to follow this format that i was use to and  I was frustrated with this at first but the more i revise the papers the more i realized that it is not that hard its just uncomfortable at first. Once i start revising and getting the hang of the paper these nonconventional papers to me are easier to write. Ive also learned a lot about how much you can write on such a small amount of given information.

Revamped analysis paper and final paper

Wow was that a couple of late nights working on the paper. One i figured out the quote sandwich i was able to write a paper that was just over 5 pages. It was a paragraph over 5 pages. Then I went back and after a couple revisions and tweaking the sentence structures of a couple paragraphs and rewording some sentences i realized i just did not like one of my paragraphs so i deleted that whole paragraph from my paper. I was still able to meet the page requirement and without the fluff i feel as if that paragraph added. I liked the paragraph but just not for this type of paper.

Analysis paper first draft

With the first draft i could not expand it to two pages. I don't know why but i couldn't push to that two page requirement. It was only 5 paragraphs so I thought that two pages was ridiculous but then i started thinking about what i could talk about and with the addition of the quote sandwich it was really easy to start expanding my draft.

Snow Day

My snow day was very eventful. It started off as a normal day waking up and going to the gym. Then my friend has a shoulder injury and when I but his shoulder back into place I put it back into the actual position is was supposed to be in which they said would never happen so we had to take him to the ER to get pain medication. Let me tell you Romeoville does not know how to plow roads! The roads were awful and it was an adventure and a half getting to the ER. Then my peer minister ordered us pizza and made the day so much better.

Revising the Doc project

With the help of Dr. Kyburz I was able to revise my paper to what I feel is a pretty good paper. I like the direct criticism so I know exactly what she is looking for so my paper can be better. I learned in high school that you need to write to your audience and having the direct criticism helps me write to my audience and makes me able to write it in a more appropriate manor. 

Writing the doc project

Writing the initial paper for this project was not all that bad and once I got into the film it made it a lot easier to write. I was more engaged in this paper then the last doc project I did. I feel as if having experience on this topic helped making this paper better then my last one. I also feel as if Chasing Coral has many different aspects that all come together and makes a paper easier to write.

Doc Project

1.) The scene that got to me the most was at the end when they showed what coral reefs use to look like and what they look like now because of coral bleaching. It moved me because I honestly had no idea this was even a thing and to see how beautiful something once way compared to now is a tragedy. I feel as if this is an awful thing to be happening as a result of rising ocean temperatures because of global warming and it is almost unknown.

2.) I am very surprised on how quick this happens and that it can happen in a matter of months and they will never come back as they were before.

3.) I want to know if there is anyway to regenerate the coil and have it somehow be biologically altered to become more resistant to changing water temperatures. I still feel almost responsible for this because humans are causing this problem and no one really does anything to try and stop this.
